Reframing a problem – the act of taking a problem statement and thinking about it in a new way – can often help move toward a new or different answer.
As a mom during this pandemic, I’ve been thinking about the new school year with some anxiety… how will I balance my work here at Grumpy Lemon, with the possibility of having my son home trying to learn multiplication tables? It often feels overwhelming and scary.
What I have learned by working with the great people here at GL is that we can reframe our own problems into opportunities.
When will I ever be able to spend this much time with my son? As all of us working parents know, it’s a fine balance between paying the bills and nurturing your child.
What a gift of time we’ve been given! So my new question is: What can I do to make this time meaningful for both my son and me?
The same is true for your business problems. Reframing into a positive spin, or changing the words you’re using can be a start to thinking about the problem differently.
What’s a problem you have that needs to be reframed? Or how have you thought about something differently and gotten unexpected results?
